Congrats on a year of Substack! It's hard to believe it's only been that long. It feels like I've been nerding out with you about game soundtracks in my comment sections for a lot longer than that, but that's really when I started getting more tied into the gaming side of substack as well.
It really is such a special community, and I'm so glad we've all stumbled our way into it 😁

Has it already been a year!? It feels just like yesterday when I found your post about games you use a notebook for — which instantly made me reflect on how I do the same for some of my games (Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2 was my note-taking start)! Soon after that, as I followed along, I realized how well you use your writing and wit to share some amazing knowledge and expertise with gaming. The series you published on Rare was truly special, and I learned so much from it. More so, you've most certainly left a very positive impression on me with my own writing. You also have a sense of humor and conversational style of writing that brings realness to your articles, and I always can't wait to read your work!
I'm super glad you found your way onto Substack! It definitely feels like a ton of people showed up at the right time last year to get the gaming community of this platform really going, and I know for a fact that you've been a major contributor to that! It's often that I'll be reading someone's article and see you engaging with others down in the comments, chatting with us on Sey's GGL Discord server, or participating in collaboration articles on other publications (including mine)!
