Thanks for the shout! And links in my bio if anyone is interested :)

Also, I think you have convinced me to get that 8bitdo controller. Because I cannot see myself using a n64 controller in 2026. Needed some sort of update and this seems to be it.

Excited for what’s next Peter!

Sey, the controller is a game changer 😁 Apart from the shape, it even looks the part, so all the coloured button prompts in games match up.

Thanks for reading.

Loved reading about ILM! I'm going to have to watch that now.

Here's to hoping the next one is about the impact of the Switch. I'm not a huge Nintendo guy but I think the value of a console that is both portable and dockable doesn't get anywhere near enough the props it deserves.

Thanks Sebastian. No one has ever stated a preference to order of posts before. Since you're the first, I'll give yours consideration!

Yay 😁

I’m glad you’re doing well! Keep up the hard work. Diet changes are always difficult but manageable when you get into the swing of things.

I like the looks of that controller. I might get one myself. I have a need for an N64 controller and a GameCube controller as well.

I’ve been meaning to watch that series as well. I have it favorited but haven’t had the chance to sit down and watch it. Sounds super interesting.

Great read! Thanks for the update. I always look forward to seeing what you’re getting into.

The controller is not super expensive, unlike the official Nintendo ones that works on the Switch. Also, it works on PC, Switch, or a emulator console via Bluetooth, it doesn't just have to be for N64 games.

Thanks for reading!

That controller does like tasty, I might get it! Playing Ocarina of Time on NSO 6 months ago I had to do a fair bit of remapping to make it playable on a Pro Controller, since using the analog stick for the C buttons was a proper nightmare. I've since bought the N64 controller replica that Nintendo made, but that analog stick still looks dodgy.

Also, your controller might come in handy if you want to play the Star Fox remake. I was playing the demo on my N64 controller and it controlled like a dream. Can't imagine the Pro controller to be better at least.

Have you tried playing Jet Force Gemini on joy-cons, remapped or not? Don't, it's impossible!

Some things I forgot to mention about the controller. When you sync it to the Switch, it registers as a N64 controller. It also has two Z triggers (both called "Z"), but the left one acts as the real N64 button and the right one brings up the suspend menu. It's a little odd, but you get used to it. I think it was designed like that for playing other emulated games too.

I didn't know the new Star Fox would work on these controllers. I want to at least check out the demo, thanks for the info.

I have and I literally couldn't get out of the first area because my character was glued to the ground and I had no idea how to get up.

And yeah, Star Fox has been made compatible with the N64 controller as a conscious design choice, so you should see all the right icons while playing it.

Always good to see a piece from you pop up! Take your time, we'll all be here!

I'm always in the background Amy. Lurking, waiting patiently to strike 😂

Glad to see you back writing :)

I was quite a loyal 8BitDo customer for a few years until I accidentally broke one of their controls and another just randomly stopped working. I hope that one contonues to serve you well but definitely think about being extra careful!

I'd love to read more on the Saturn. To my knowledge I'm the only writer in this space who has really shared anything about the machine. While it is notoriously expensive to get games for it is definitely underrated in my opinion.

I'll bear it in mind, I'm usually careful with my things though. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm not a collector of Saturn games, but I was there and lived through it. I know that the PS1 was the popular choice and won out in the end. I just thought it would be interesting to discuss the other console on the market at the time.

Thanks for reading Lawrence.
